Artist statement
By limiting my colour palette, changing process, and introducing conté, this allowed me to discover new patterns and forms. A surprising and harmonious connectivity between shape, line and colour. When I apply the coloured inks I feel so in love with colours, my housework is forgotten, the stress is released onto my page and after visiting the studio I am always happy to go home. I was surprised at how the ink spread out, how the colour flows in this picture, at the many different shades of blue, amazing – I was having fun! I don't even know what it is? I would like to promote art to Pasifika people, to show that art can support people with medical conditions and their families.
