The Australian, New Zealand and Asian Arts Therapy Association (ANZACATA) has entered into an agreement with the School of Social Sciences at Western Sydney University to publish the Association’s peer reviewed journal as an online open access publication with international reach. The JoCAT team operates with editorial independence, promoting innovative research that supports ANZACATA’s aim to strengthen the profile of the creative arts therapies in our region.

ANZACATA

The Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA) is the peak professional body that represents creative arts therapists in Australia, New Zealand and the Asia/Pacific region. It is a member-run self-regulating non-profit company limited by guarantee that seeks to advocate for the profession and to ensure that the training and practice of professional members is in accordance with the highest international standards.

School of Social Sciences, Western Sydney University

The disciplines and areas of study that make up the School of Social Sciences at Western Sydney University are amongst the most exciting and important in the contemporary university. The School of Social Sciences delivers excellence in research and teaching and has a robust level of community engagement. The School provides innovative and relevant undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in areas such as Arts Therapy, Social Work, and Counselling.

EBSCO Information Services

JoCAT has signed a non-exclusive content license agreement with EBSCO Information Services for them to disseminate JoCAT content through the EBSCO databases, to which many local and international libraries subscribe. EBSCO is committed to open access, and this agreement greatly enhances our journal's opportunities for discovery, citations, submissions and impact. The agreement with EBSCO is non-exclusive, free of charge, and there is no transfer of copyright.

DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals)

DOAJ is an independent international index containing almost 17,500 peer-reviewed, open access journals, covering all areas of science, technology, medicine, social sciences, arts and humanities. DOAJ’s mission is to increase the visibility, accessibility, reputation, usage and impact of quality, peer-reviewed, open access scholarly research journals globally, regardless of discipline, geography or language. DOAJ relies entirely on the voluntary donations of its supporters and is committed to being 100% independent and maintaining its primary services and metadata as free to use or reuse for everyone.

Creative Commons licences

JoCAT is a Gold Open Access journal. Due to the funding provided by ANZACATA, JoCAT is freely available, and contributors are not charged open access fees. JoCAT requires individual authors and creators to retain copyright of their work and grant access under a Creative Commons licence. This way the contributions published in JoCAT can be downloaded, reproduced, displayed, performed and/or shared, for non-commercial purposes only, without prior permission, on the express condition that the content is not altered in any way and is properly and fully attributed to individual authors, creators and the journal.
