  • Checklist

    Please fill out the checklist to ensure you have provided everything necessary for a complete submission. The JoCAT Style Guide, APAv7 quick guides, the JoCAT Style Template and other submitting information can be found in the JoCAT Submission Manual – https://www.jocat-online.org/submissions-resources

  • It is a stipulation that you use the JoCAT Style Template for any text-based submissions. If you answer no to this question you MUST include a statement as to why you have not.
    Please note that you can make a submission with special formatting requirements – see question below. These will be negotiated with the JoCAT team if your submission is accepted for publication.

If you still have problems formatting your submission correctly, please contact the JoCAT coordinator – coordinator@jocat-online.org

  • Please double check all your references before you send your submission.

    • Make sure that every reference cited in your paper is included in the reference list.
    • Make sure that every reference in your reference list is cited in your paper.
    • Check that every reference is cited correctly following APAv7.
    • There are resources on the JoCAT website to help you with this – https://www.jocat-online.org/referencing.

    Please note that your paper may be returned to you if the referencing is not up to standard.

  • Please note: Authors of papers based on research with human participants must include the ethics approval number and the approving research ethics body on the author disclosure form. Ethics approval must be prospective: i.e. approval must have been gained prior to undertaking the research, which usually means prior to undertaking fieldwork, but can also refer to prospective approval from an ethics committee to analyse and write about previously gathered or archival data.
