Description of role 

The Journal of Creative Arts Therapies (JoCAT) is the open access peer-reviewed publication of ANZACATA in association with the School of Social Sciences, Western Sydney University.

JoCAT’s editorial team looking for someone who is aware of the latest trends in the world of creative arts therapies and is excited about being involved with JoCAT to help create compelling audio content. The journal’s podcasts are designed to be an accessible way to listen to some of the exciting things happening in the creative arts therapies research space. New podcasts are added regularly. Our podcasts range from interviews with authors and reviewers, to discussions with creative arts therapists on a range of popular topics, and reviews of books and art exhibitions.

The coordinator role involves communicating with potential podcast hosts and guests, as well as liaising with the editorial team, the journal coordinator, and sound editor. JoCAT publishes content each month – first issue: March, April, May, June, July; second issue: September, October, November, December. The successful applicant will work closely with an experienced team – chief editor A/Prof Sheridan Linnell; co-editors Dr Henry Bowen, Dr Catherine Camden-Pratt, Dr Deborah Green, Caryn Griffin; Dr Ying Wang, and Daniel Wong; and most closely with Vic Segedin who coordinates and produces the online publication. This position is on a voluntary unpaid basis. 

JoCAT is committed to its policy to fully reflect the geographical and cultural scope of ANZACATA and the diversity of its team members, contributors and readers. We welcome potential applicants from First Nations/Tangata Whenua and ANZACATA’s Asian regions. 

Skills and experience required:

  • Interest and experience in producing podcasts

  • Experience with research literature in the field of creative arts therapies 

  • Knowledge of creative arts therapies practice

  • Strong English literacy

  • Strong computer literacy and experience, especially with using Zoom, or similar, and with Dropbox, or similar

  • Some sound recording experience

  • Must be able to work to deadlines and in a multi-country team

  • Membership with ANZACATA. 

Desirable:

  • Experience in hosting podcasts

  • Previous publishing experience

  • Sound production and editing skills

  • Literacy in one or more languages of the Asia-Pacific region other than English.
